The Schengen area has nothing to do with the CVM (despite what the Commission is saying loud and clear), nor with barking at the EU or fawning on Angela Merkel. Access in the Schengen area only relates to a Member State’s capacity to stop networks of organized crime, trafficking or illegal migration from accessing the Union.

Public Debate: Building statehood in Kosovo and stability in the Balkans. What role for the EU?

The event hosted the visit of a delegation of MPs, journalists and artists from Kosovo in Romania to encourage cooperation despite non-recognition. We organized a public debate on European future for the Balkans with students from international relations, economic studies and political science and experts in the field. The project was financed by Kosovo Foundation for Open Society and British Council.

A swarm of people and cars in perpetual motion on roads that are of two kinds: those inherited from Tito, that are better than the ones in today’s Romania, and those under construction – once again by Bechtel – but at a pace that makes you think they intend to finalize all highways by the end of the year!
