‘Russian Disinformation in Slovakia: an Experimental Approach’ is a study conducted by Roman Hlatky, as part of the GlobalFocus Focus fellowship program supported by the Open Information Partnership and Black Sea Trust.
The author researched Russian disinformation in Slovakia, using a methodology which reveals to what extent individuals read and trust disinformation news outlets; how, and to what extent, Russian disinformation influences individual attitudes; if demographic and ideological variation matter in how individuals consume and respond to disinformation. Lastly, the study explores the hypothesis of boosting response to disinformation by exposing individuals to a process of “controlled inoculation” with misleading narratives.
